Maple Grove Balloon Business Sees Sales Rise to Pre-COVID-19 Levels
There may be nothing better than balloons to add a celebratory touch and burst of color to a special occasion.
And with graduation season upon us, a Maple Grove balloon business is as busy as ever.
Kristin Traynor, owner of The Corner Balloon Shoppe, says graduation season is the busiest time of year for her store.
“We still have our birthdays, we still have weddings, showers, bar mitzvahs, all the corporate stuff, and then grad piled on top,” said Traynor.

Orders are rushing in and balloons are being filled to meet the demand.
“Some people like to do the high school colors in front and college in back,” said Traynor.
The ballooning orders and loss of Maple Grove’s Party City store have contributed to the need for additional staff at The Corner Balloon Shoppe.
“I just hired three new people,” said Traynor.
During busy times, six to seven employees to cover the storefront and make increasingly popular deliveries.
The Corner Balloon Shoppe recommends placing your orders for setup and delivery now, since spots are running out.
“There’s a couple of Saturdays we are booked already,” said Traynor. “We just can’t take any more deliveries, we only have two vans. We only have a couple of people to go around and set up.”
Traynor said on any given Saturday, the business will do 12-15 delivery and setups.
All the sales have added up. Traynor said sales have returned to pre-COVID-19 levels.
