Maple Grove Approves Senior Housing, New Luxury Apartments
The Maple Grove City Council approved two high-end housing projects, one fills a need for senior housing, another is market-rate apartments. Both would be located near future Hy-Vee grocery stores.
Havenwood of Maple Grove
The senior housing is a four-story, 150-unit apartment complex, which would be located near County Road 101 and Bass Lake Road. The complex called Havenwood of Maple Grove would offer 60 independent living units and 90 units for assisted living and memory care.
The developer, Minnetonka-based Roers Companies, says there’s a “strong demand” for senior housing. Company representatives say they would like to begin construction this fall. Their goal is to open in the spring of 2021.
A 10,000-square-foot daycare facility is also planned for this site.
A Hy-Vee grocery store is under construction to the south of this location. Hy-Vee plans to open this fall.
99th Avenue Apartments
The Maple Grove City Council also approved a new market-rate apartment complex next to a future Hy-Vee grocery store in the northern part of Maple Grove.
A Fargo, N.D.-based developer will construct a five-story building with more than 160 units at a site south of Highway 610 and east of Maple Grove Parkway. The 99th Avenue Apartments would be built in a wooded area. A tree replacement plan is required for the project.
Representatives with the developer, Enclave Companies, says “a good job base” attracted them to the city. They say the amenities for the project will be similar to 610 West Apartments in Brooklyn Park or apartment projects near the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove. An Enclave spokesperson says to expect a rooftop water amenity such as a hot tub or pool, as well as a “sway garden,” which is a section of hammocks.
As far as the Hy-Vee grocery store, there’s no time frame yet on when construction on that project will begin.
