Man Charged After Leaving Gun at Maple Grove Portillo’s
A Blaine man has been charged with negligent storage of a loaded weapon after his gun was found in the men’s bathroom at the Maple Grove Portillo’s restaurant.
According to the criminal complaint:
Maple Grove police responded on March 28 when a Portillo’s employee alerted them about a gun found on a toilet paper holder in the men’s restroom. The responding officer brought the Kimber Micro 9 STG handgun, which was loaded, back to the Maple Grove Police Department.
Police later received a voicemail from Dennis Worre, 78, asking how he can recover his gun. The complaint said Worre “understood how dangerous it was leaving his firearm in the bathroom stall.”
Worre was charged with negligent storage, a gross misdemeanor crime. The charge carries a maximum sentence of up to one year in prison and a $3,000 fine.
