Former Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Jim Driste Dies at 81
Brooklyn Park is remembering Jim Driste who served for 35 years in the Brooklyn Park Fire Department and served as chief for 15 of those years.
Driste passed away earlier this month at the age of 81.
The Brooklyn Park Fire Department posted about Driste on its Facebook page Monday. A post read that Driste was the fourth fire chief in the city’s history. He became a Brooklyn Park firefighter in 1964 and served in a variety of roles before serving as chief from 1984 to 1999. The post says Driste’s son was also a firefighter.
