Local Bike Shop to Host Town Hall Meetings on E-Bikes
With electric bikes becoming more popular, a local bicycle shop is working to educate people on the rules of the road and help them save a little money.
“We’re all spending more time on our bikes, and e-bikes are a great way to run errands, to get to school,” said Pam Sayler, owner of Trailhead Cycling. “It’s just a really great commuting option, as well as way more fun.”
Trailhead Cycling is hosting two town hall meetings on e-bikes this month.
The first meeting — which is at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Trailhead’s Plymouth location at 12901 16th Ave. N. — will focus on the impact e-bikes have on the trail system. Representatives from the Three Rivers Park District, as well as local police, will educate people on the rules for riding on the trails.
Meanwhile, the next meeting — which is at 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 at Trailhead’s Champlin store at 11350 Aquila Dr. — will be hosted by Minnesota Sen. John Hoffman (DFL-Champlin). That event will focus on the state’s new electric bike rebate program, which starts July 1, 2024.
“We invite everyone to come to these two town hall-style meetings — they’re very relevant information,” Sayler said. “Mainly because of the explosion of the use of our trails post COVID and during COVID.”
