Local Agencies Assist with Champlin Homicide Suspect Search
Brooklyn Park, Osseo, and Maple Grove police were called in to help with the scene of a homicide in Champlin, and the search for the suspect that followed.
The homicide reverberated through the northwest metro on Monday night, as people could hear the sirens racing toward the scene and the helicopter searching for the suspect.
Champlin Police say 35-year-old woman was found lying in the yard of a home on Thousand Pines Entry around 9:30 p.m. Monday. First responders were not able to revive the woman, who was later identified as Peachu Yates.
A state patrol helicopter and a Brooklyn Park K-9 helped search for the suspect. The suspect’s vehicle was found, abandoned, in Brooklyn Park about two hours later.
Champlin Police released that the suspect had been arrested Tuesday morning in Fargo, North Dakota.
