Last Peek at Fall? Three Rivers Parks Have Several Viewing Opportunities
Our late fall weather has been pretty nice so far. So why not get out and enjoy the remaining fall colors in nearby Three Rivers parks?
The Three Rivers Park District has a lot going on. That includes a couple events to enjoy the fall weather this weekend.
Family Fun Day at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park
At the Mississippi Gateway Regional Park in Brooklyn Park, Families and kids of all ages are welcome to attend the free Family Fun Day on Sunday. The event includes a story for kids that involves walking through the park. This week’s story is “The Little Lost Cub.”
“The pages of the story, each page, will be out along the trail. So as you walk the trail you’ll get to read the whole story,” said Michelle Bierma, a naturalist with the Three Rivers Park District.
The story walk is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
“I will be right here at our big oak tree with some fun things about Minnesota foxes. I’ll have some fur and a skull along and just other fun activities that folks can do,” said Bierma.
Meet Jack the Great Horned Howl at Eastman Nature Center
At Eastman Nature Center in the Elm Creek Park Reserve you can enjoy spending time with Jack, the resident great horned owl. A naturalist will be on hand from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday to answer questions. There will also be family activities.
