Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Looks for New Theater Home
A Brooklyn Park theater nonprofit is facing an uncertain future as it searches for a new home.
“Being at the mercy of rental space is very tiring,” said Cami Thomassen, founder of Kaleidoscope Performing Arts. “We’re on their schedule. And as of this fall, we don’t have this space.”
Kaleidoscope’s lease at Elision Playhouse in Crystal is up. The nonprofit hopes to continue its mission of providing performing arts opportunities for youth as well as adults.
“We are making a difference and we see that in the families that are coming here,” said Frank Thomassen with Kaleidoscope Performing Arts. “We see it on the kids. We have a community that’s amazing.”
Kaleidoscope is trying to spread the word about finding new theater space to rent or perhaps even own.
“It would mean so much if someone had the financial means that believed in our mission,” said Cami Thomassen.
