Improvements Coming to Osseo’s Sipe Park, Thanks to Youth Sports Grant
Sipe Park will receive a few upgrades thanks to a Hennepin County Youth Baseball and Softball Facility Grant. The city will receive a $10,950 grant to upgrade new grounds equipment, install a new clay infield, a new pitcher’s mound, and new benches for players and spectators. The new grounds equipment will be a new field drag/groomer attachment to replace outdated equipment.
The grant also requires a $1,100 match, the project be completed in nine months, and pictures of the finished project to be submitted. Since the Hennepin County Youth Sports Grant began in 2009, the program has awarded more than 25-million dollars to Hennepin County projects.
This isn’t the first time the Twins have helped revamp the park. The Twins Community Foundation awarded money to revamp the park back in 2001.
The Osseo City Council formally accepted the grant at its Monday night meeting. To listen to the full discussion, click here.
