Hospitals Face Labor Shortages, North Memorial Health Holds Job Fair
In a move to help the labor shortage, North Memorial Health held a job fair with interviews, offers and even job bonuses for positions that varied from registered nurses to security workers.
“The need is very high right now. As an organization, we have high need for healthcare workers. We have a lot of open positions in a lot of areas,” said Allison Gibbons, who is part of the recruitment team at North Memorial Health Hospital.
North Memorial Health Hospital is not alone in a labor shortage. A variety of factors, many of which stem from COVID-19, are impacting local hospitals. For example, registered nurses are seeing a 10 percent vacancy rate across the country.
