Hortman Among Lawmakers on Israel Study Tour
House Speaker Melissa Hortman of Brooklyn Park is among seven state lawmakers touring Israel and the West Bank this week.
The bipartisan group will tour Israel’s parliament, the Palestinian Authority headquarters and several Christian and Jewish holy sites.
Hortman says the trip will help lawmakers understand the complex political and security issues facing Israel and the region. The tour runs through Dec. 13.
Lawmakers are paying their own way for the travels.
