Honeywell Union Workers in Golden Valley, Plymouth Face Possible Lockout
Honeywell union workers in Golden Valley, Plymouth and Minneapolis, embroiled in a contract stalemate, face a possible company lockout beginning Feb. 1.
The company informed the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 1145 of the possibility if the two sides don’t reach an agreement by the end of the month.
According to union officials, negotiations are expected to resume Thursday. The possible lockout would involve more than 600 Teamsters union employees at the three sites, most of whom work in the company’s aerospace division.
Back in 2017, Honeywell and IBT Local 145 employees faced a similar situation, but both sides were able to reach a deal.
Honeywell has been negotiating with the local union since Jan. 5 with the stalemate largely focused on wages. The two sides had a tentative agreement on Jan. 17, but union members voted it down.
