Honey & Mackie’s Offers Holiday Movie-Themed Ice Cream Sampler…without ‘Die Hard’

Plymouth’s Honey & Mackie’s owner Suzanne Varecka created a 12-pack of holiday sampler ice cream that includes a flavor based on a family-friendly movie or character.  

“Our hope is peple are watching these movies and they grab an ice cream and taste that as they are watching the show,” said Varecka.

Flavors include Varecka’s favorite, ‘Mean Mr. Grinch’ which is a sugar cookie ice cream with Andes mints and crowd-favorite ‘Elsa Won’t Let This Go’ which is blue velvet cake batter with snowflakes and sprinkles.

What won’t you see? A tribute to “Die Hard.”

“We’ve had a lot of people ask why we didn’t put ‘Die Hard’ in here, and that it’s an online cult of people asking is it a Christmas movie? It is not a Christmas movie?” said Varecka. “I didn’t want the drama of parents having to explain it to their kids why ‘Die Hard’ was in the holiday pack.”

Instead, the flavors are holiday movie inspired. Varecka says she started with more than 25 holiday movies and whittled down the list to make sure she had a flavor that could appeal to every age.

The sampler pack of 12 ice cream, which is more than four pints in total, costs $38.75 and supplies are limited. Varecka advises people to pick it up in store, but you can also order it online.
