Hollies Winston Sworn In as Brooklyn Park’s First Black Mayor
Hollies Winston took the oath of office during a public swearing-in ceremony on Monday, saying he wants to focus on fighting crime, economic development, and improving life for people living in apartments.
“Huntington Place is really symbolic of those living in the Zane corridor and throughout certain areas of the city,” said Winston. “We want to make sure we bolster the infrastructure there just so people have high quality living and they have the resources they need to succeed.”
Nichole Klonowski and Maria Tran were also sworn in as council members. Christian Eriksen will be sworn in at a later date.
