Highview Instructor Honored as Alternative Staff Member of the Year

Linda Valentine is the Minnesota Association of Alternative Programs’ (MAAP) Staff Person of the Year. Valentine is a graphics instructor at Robbinsdale Academy-Highview.

Valentine was honored at a school board meeting on Monday night. She has a background in Criminal Justice and Graphic Design. She worked with Highview students at Hennepin Technical College through District 287 as a graphics instructor. When that program ended, Valentine became Highview’s graphics instructor in 2006. She is also an instructor at Hennepin Technical college.

At the District 281 school board meeting, the agenda item said that Valentine is “a huge advocate for Women in the Workforce, Women’s Equality and Career and Technical Education (CTE). Linda has given her soul to teaching and maintains high standards and integrity in her work with students.”
