Herself Health Opens Crystal Clinic for Women 65 and Older
The first Herself Health clinic in the northwest suburbs has opened in Crystal.
The clinic says it’s the first primary care provider to cater specifically to women 65 and over.
Offering longer visits, it’s the second Herself Health clinic in the Twin Cities. The other is in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood.
The concept is based on what workers in the medical community say they were hearing.
“We listened to women and heard that they didn’t feel listened to,” said Kristen Helton, CEO of Herself Health, which was founded last year. “They didn’t feel they were receiving the best kind of care. And it’s really important, especially as women get older and have more health care needs, that we address those concerns and give them the time and the space to talk about their health care.”
Helton said the decision to expand into the northwest suburbs was an easy one due to the demand seen at the St. Paul clinic.
“We found that patients were driving over an hour in some cases to see us in St. Paul,” said Helton. “So we knew there was a demand for more clinics.”
The new Crystal clinic will create around 25 jobs and serve an estimated 4,000 patients.
Herself Health also plans to launch a third clinic in December in south Minneapolis.
