Hennepin Tech Waives Admission Fees During October
Hennepin Technical College and North Hennepin Community College are both part of a month-long promotion that encourages people to apply for college.
Hennepin Tech says the free admission is an opportunity to drive student awareness, increase virtual and in-person visits and appeal to underrepresented students too.
“We recognize that the $20 application fee isn’t this gigantic cost, however, we serve a large population of underrepresented students and every little bit helps,” said Dr. Turner Berg with Hennepin Tech. “We want to encourage students to take advantage of looking into schools in October.”
Berg says Hennepin Tech also offers some one-on-one counseling when students apply. This allows students to meet with enrollment team and look over programs.
“It really helps students make the right decisions on which level of programming, or degree, they want,” said Berg. “By working one-on-one in the enrollment process, rather than say ‘pick your major and hopefully it works,’ we’re able to really take a second and say where’s your knowledge and where’s your level of interest.”
Berg says it becomes more of a partnership to help students decide what career they want to pursue.
There are 30 colleges and seven universities celebrating Minnesota State Week and College Knowledge Month. Use promo code, MNSTWEEK when applying at HTC. For all other colleges and universities applicants should use promo code CKM2021.
