Hennepin Tech Receives Accolades from “Diverse Issues in Higher Education”
Hennepin Technical College recently earned accolades for the number of students of color that are pursuing degrees in an engineering field. The college came in 24th out of 100 for conferring associates degrees to students of color in engineering or related fields, according to the publication “Diverse Issues in Higher Education.”
The publication released its annual Diverse Top 100 List which ranks colleges and universities nationwide using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Hennepin Tech has consistently appeared on the list in recent years and this new ranking describes graduation rates among students of color in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Hennepin Tech offers several programs in engineering technology fields, including; Automation Robotics Engineering Technology, Engineering CAD Technology, and Fluid Power Engineering and Motion Control.
The school says they have 46 percent of student identifying as students of color.
