Hennepin Tech Receives Accolades for Granting Associate Degrees to Minority Students
Hennepin Technical College earned accolades for granting associate degrees to minority students. The recognition came from the organization Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. Hennepin Tech is one of the most diverse college campuses in the state, with 62 percent of students identifying as low income, first generation and students of color.
The publication released its “Top 100” report, which uses data from the U.S. Department of Education. In 2020, Hennepin Tech was recognized for granting a high number of associate degrees to students of color in several program areas, including those related to careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

Mechanic and Repair Technologies/Technicians
Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services
