Hennepin Tech Launching Food Truck Entrepreneur Degree
Hennepin Technical College is offering a new degree starting this fall due to the demand for food trucks.
The college will offer a food truck entrepreneur degree. Culinary arts instructor Denis Durnev is helping to lead the program. Durnev has been learning from food truck operators this summer to help teach coursework. He also volunteered at a Maple Grove music festival this month helping to coordinate food trucks.
“We are working on creating a food truck area here at Hennepin Tech so we can be as close as possible to the real world. Our students can experience everything from building, to serving, to being in a tight place,” Durnev explained.
The food truck entrepreneur degree will focus on marketing and business plans. Hennepin Tech is also offering a new baking and pastry program after more people started selling baked goods from home due to the pandemic.
