Gunshots Strike Brooklyn Park Home
Brooklyn Park police are investigating a shots-fired case in which gunfire struck a home late Friday night.
The incident occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Friday in the 7700 block of York Lane N. near Shingle Creek Trail Park.
A police search of the area located four shell casings. Officers also found a home struck by gunfire.
There were no reports of injuries, police said. The case remains under investigation.
The incident follows a shooting the day before along Brookdale Drive. In that case a man was shot in the leg by someone firing from a vehicle, police said.
According to Brooklyn Park police statistics, there have been five shots-fired incidents that were either on or near Brookdale Drive this year. Police say that is an unusually high number for such a concentrated area.
On Friday, CCX News reported that police installed cameras along Brookdale Drive.
Citywide, the number of shots-fired incidents are actually down for the month of October. There have been seven shots-fired incidents compared to 11 in October last year, police data show.
