Gunfire Hits Brooklyn Park Restaurant ‘15-20 Times’
Brooklyn Park police released new information Tuesday afternoon on a fast food restaurant shooting that police now say was a “targeted act.”
Officers were initially called just before 10 p.m. Monday to Wingstop, located in the 9600 block of Colorado Lane N. Upon arrival, officers found that the business exterior had struck been “15-20 times” by gunfire, police said. Police said they recovered evidence of a similar amount of shell casings in the parking lot.
A customer posted video of the aftermath showing shattered glass, including the front door that had been shot out.
One person had to be taken to the hospital for a non-life threatening injury to the upper torso, police said.
Brooklyn Park police said witnesses told officers the shooting came from a vehicle.
On Tuesday afternoon, police released an update saying that the person who fired the shots is “known to the victim,” and the incident was not a random act. However, attempts to make an arrest has been made more difficult due to officers “receiving limited cooperation,” police said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Brooklyn Park Police at 763-493-8222.
