Gun Found at New Hope School
New Hope police say they continue to investigate an incident in which a gun was found on school property at North Education Center.
The school was placed on lockdown for about an hour Wednesday morning after a staff member called 911 reporting a gun found outside the building.
According to New Hope police spokesperson Brad Kallio, officers arrested a juvenile suspect. He added that New Hope police are not seeking additional suspects at this time.
Kallio could not say precisely where the weapon was found on school grounds due to the ongoing investigation.
North Education Center, in Intermediate District 287, provides specialized programming for K-12 students with a variety of needs.
