Golden Valley Selects New City Manager
The city of Golden Valley has selected a new city manager, according to an announcement released this week.
The Golden Valley City Council selected Noah Schuchman, the city’s current interim city manager, to take on the permanent role.
Schuchman previously served as the chief administrative officer for the city of Duluth. Prior to that he was the director of regulatory services for the city of Minneapolis.
The selection was made from three finalists. Besides Schuchman, Brooklyn Center City Manager Reggie Edwards and the former city manager of Maplewood, Mo., Michael Reese, were also finalists for the job.
The city hired consulting firm GovHR USA to assist in the search, which involved an initial pool of 58 applicants. The Golden Valley City Council selected the finalists after GovHR USA narrowed the field to 10 candidates.
Schuchman will replace former Golden Valley City Manager Tim Cruikshank, who retired in March after nearly nine years with the city.
Schuchman holds a master’s degree in public administration from Hamline University and a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Marquette University.
