Golden Valley Police: Suspect Rams Woman’s Vehicle, Violently Assaults Victim
An Anoka man is in jail pending an attempted murder charge for an unusually violent case in Golden Valley on Friday night.
According to Golden Valley police, the 45-year-old suspect followed a woman in his vehicle, rammed her vehicle off Golden Valley Road and Wirth Parkway, and then violently assaulted her. The woman had a no-contact order against the man.
The woman called 911 in the area of Golden Valley Road and Theodore Wirth Parkway. Soon after, police say the suspect used his vehicle to ram the woman’s vehicle off the road. Police say he then violently assaulted her, causing significant injuries.
At last check, the woman was in stable condition at North Memorial Health Hospital. The suspect was being held Monday at the Hennepin County jail pending charges of second-degree attempted homicide and violation of the no-contact order.
