Golden Valley Opens Ice Rinks for the Season
Golden Valley opened their ice skating rinks right before Christmas. The city maintains ten rinks and six of those rinks have warming houses.
Ideally, the crew needs 3-4 inches of frozen ground to start making ice. The goal is to establish a six-inch base, which will help rinks survive most warm snaps without closing down.
The rinks are cleaned and resurfaced based on weather conditions, and there are options available to just skate or play hockey too.
