Golden Valley Home Featured on Minneapolis & St. Paul Home Tour
A unique Golden Valley home will be featured in this weekend’s Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour.
Jill Moore’s Golden Valley home is one of 25 Twin Cities homes featured on the tour. Moore is a former Paralympic athlete who worked with Puustelli Kitchens to make her one-story rambler totally wheelchair accessible.
“Being asked, it was this chance that we get to show off accessible design but in a fun space,” said Moore. “We got to brag about our contractor a bit, and so it’s exciting to be a part of that conversation.”
Moore’s home, which was built in 1953, fits what’s called “universal design,” meaning it’s designed not just for persons with disabilities, but anyone.
“I want to see that modern functionality and accessibility and universal design can all merge together in a really intentional way,” said Moore. “When people come over and we get to entertain, I’m proud to show off all these little facets of our kitchen that make our lives easier.”
The home tour, which is sponsored by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry of Minnesota, is free. It takes place April 30 and May 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
