Golden Valley Firefighter Remembered
The Golden Valley fire department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
“He’s going to be missed. He was a big part of our department, and there’s a pretty big hole in our heart,” said fire chief John Crelly.
Josh Richardson was a paid-on-call firefighter for 14 years with the Golden Valley Fire Department. His locker is now a makeshift memorial. Several bouquets of flowers are among his fire gear. Chief Crelly says he will miss Richardson’s smile and uplifting spirit.
“Always positive, always thinking, always integrating with everybody that we worked with, always a positive comment, just an inspiration. He really brought that positive feel good to the station,” said Crelly.
According to Richardson’s Caring Bridge page, he died Tuesday from colon cancer. He was a seven year-military veteran of the navy and a member of Plymouth Covenant Church. His wife and two children survive him.
