Golden Valley Entrepreneurs ‘Pedal’ into the State Fair
A Golden Valley entrepreneur pedaled her business into this year’s Great Minnesota Get-Together for the first time.
“[The State Fair] wanted us here. I mean, I think we just have a great brand,” said Kristina Urvina, owner of Pedal Pub Twin Cities. “We’re fun, you know and I think they just thought it would be a good fit.”
Pedal Pub is a 16-seat party bike. People can rent a Pedal Pub and take in some scenic views of downtown Minneapolis while enjoying a few beverages with friends.
Urvina and her fiancé, Anthony Johnson, bought the Pedal Pub franchise a year ago and wanted to use the State Fair to help market their business and sell tours.
The fair accepted their application and placed them in a prominent location on the northwest corner of Judson Avenue and Nelson Street (the former site of the Minnesota Lottery stand).

The Pedal Pub is prominently located on the Northwest corner of Judson Ave. and Nelson St. at the Minnesota State Fair.
“So yeah, we’re just trying to get the word out,” said Urvina. “You know, once people take a Pedal Pub tour, we often always have return guests. We’ve had a lot of people come up and tell us that they love it and they want to do it again.”
A 90-minute Pedal Pub tour normally costs $499, but they’re offering a State Fair special for $249.
In September, they plan to start offering tours in Anoka.
