Golden Valley Art Studio Owner: State Fair ‘Like Our Holiday’
A Golden Valley art studio owner is capturing people’s love of the Minnesota State Fair through his work.
Adam Turman has already gained quite the following. This year his booth at the State Fair is three times bigger than in previous years.
“People love the nostalgia I think,” said Turman. “I try to bring in something new to the Fair every year.”
With paintings of commonly heard Minnesota expressions like “Geez Louise” and “For Cripes Sake,” Turman’s fan base continues to grow. He says the State Fair is the biggest time of his year for sales — by far.
“The State Fair, what we consider with Team Turman, it’s basically like our holiday,” said Turman. “This is bigger than holiday for us.”
During the fair, Turman is also giving away a free painting to one lucky fairgoer. Turman said the 18-x-24 painting is valued at $2,000.
