Golden Valley a Finalist in Minnesota Wild’s Outdoor Ice Rink Contest
Golden Valley is a finalist to win a new, temporary outdoor ice rink from the Minnesota Wild. But first they must collect the most online votes.
“We would like to have it here, at Brookview,” explained Rick Birno, parks and recreation supervisor. “We have four synthetic curling rinks and of course a winter recreation trial and winter disc golf. We thought it would be a great addition to add an outdoor skating rink.”
The rink would be temporary. The Minnesota Wild’s Outdoor Ice Rink Contest will donate two ice rinks in order to grow the game of hockey.
But right now, Golden Valley needs your vote to compete against communities like Duluth, Marshall, or New Prague. To vote, click here.
