GoFundMe Set Up for Maple Grove Mother, Daughter After Murder-Suicide
A Maple Grove woman and her daughter are being remember as “passionate” and “caring” after police say they were killed in a murder-suicide at a resort in Breezy Point, Minn., last week.
Police say Melanie Jansen, 54, of Maple Grove, and her daughter, Hannah Parmenter, 29, of Elk River, were shot and killed by Michael Toner, 59, of Maple Grove. Investigators say Toner then took his own life.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to support the families of the victims. The account has raised more than $8,000 of its $15,000 goal.
Autopsies showed Jansen and Parmenter suffered multiple gunshot wounds with the manner of death listed as homicide.
Another autopsy report showed Toner was found dead from a single gunshot wound to the head.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public,” read a press release sent out by the city of Breezy Point Police Department.
