Four Injured in Brooklyn Park School Bus Accident
A morning school bus accident in Brooklyn Park has left four people injured, including two students.
Police say the incident happened at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday when an SUV ran a red light going east on Brooklyn Boulevard. Then, the vehicle crashed into the school bus at Regent Avenue.
Police say the bus was bringing kids to Athlos Leadership Academy in Brooklyn Park.
“It’s always a worst nightmare with your child,” said Brooklyn Park Police Officer Shane DuPaul. “Anytime you get a call that they could be hurt, or might be hurt, the fear always runs through your mind. You always want them to be safe and there’s always that chance when you are traveling in a car or bus that something can happen.”
Police say both drivers and the students were taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries. Some parents also took their kids to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
No charges have been field and the accident is being investigated.
