Former Osseo Mayor Appointed to Council Seat
A familiar face will be filling a vacant seat on the Osseo City Council.
The city council appointed former Osseo Mayor John Hall to fill a vacancy on Tuesday, May 28.
His term will run through the end of the year.
He’s one of a field of four people who applied for the appointment.
He’ll be filling the vacancy left when Ashlee Mueller resigned from the council earlier this May, saying she was moving out of the city.
The city council appointed Mueller to serve the balance of Osseo City Council Member Harold Johnson’s term after he resigned. He died about two months after his resignation.
According to his resume, Hall is a 42-year resident of Osseo.
Hall has also served on the council, the Economic Development Authority, and committees or commissions related to the city’s public works, public safety and budget.
Osseo City Council Member Alicia Vickerman said she wanted to appoint someone to the seat who has already been elected at least once.
The council voted 3-0 to approve Hall’s appointment.
“[You] give us a lot of grief from the floor — that maybe could be put to better use as one of us,” said Osseo City Council Member Juliana Hultstrom said to Hall.
