Firefighter Greg Bodin Retires from Maple Grove After 20 Years
Greg Bodin has served as a firefighter for both Maple Grove and Robbinsdale. He retired from the city of Maple Grove in the fall and plans to retire from Robbinsdale in 2022.
At Monday night’s Maple Grove city council meeting, the city honored Bodin for the time he served. He was one of the charter members of Station 5 and also deployed to assist at the site of several natural disasters across the nation.
“It’s great. I’ve enjoyed it,” said Bodin. “I’m not quite nearly as young as I used to be.”
Bodin is also a Chaplin. He has a prayer book that he keeps at his desk to pray for the firefighters of Maple Grove.
“That God protect them from heat, flames, and smoke hazards that you are exposed to all the time. Protect them from pathogens, respiratory cancer, even the stress of our work for all the things we see,” said Bodin.
Bodin also serves as a Chaplin at North Memorial.
