Create Your Own Fragrance in a Candle or Spray
At Olfactory Scent Studio, you can create your own memory by mixing your own fragrance.
“Scent is so tied to memory. It makes it fun. Maybe you and your mom have a memory together and this candle can invoke that. You can bring it home and enjoy it,” said Ali Palm, manager.
Blending your own candle takes about an hour, but reservations are recommended as Mother’s Day is one of the shops busiest times of year.
Don’t have time to blend? You can pick up your favorite scent off the shelf. You can get a scent in a candle, spray, bath scrub, diffuser and more.
Leave Your Fingerprints on a Keepsake
At Color Me Mine, there are three options for Mother’s Day.
“We can help you with a hand print if you want to bring your children in to make something special,” said owner Christina Hankins. “We’ve got some really cool pottery so you can put a hand print on anything.”
You can also pick up the pottery and paint and make the item to-go. Just bring the item back to be fired when you are done.
The store also has three different seating times offered in a special Mother’s Day event. Just call for reservations.
Pick up Something Fun and Sassy
If you’d rather shop with your loved one, or just pick up something in the store, go by Fox Run.
“We are a little sassy and we do have a few products that have some language, but it’s all in fun and jest,” said Tia Scott, owner.
In addition to products featured from the 30 Minnesota makers that they always have, on May 7 and 8 they are featuring a pop-up shop in the back of the store. There, they will have ten additional makers including jewelry, candy, art and coffee.
