Fight at Osseo Middle School Leads to Lockdown
Osseo Middle School Lockdown Lasts About 50 Minutes
Osseo Middle School went into lockdown for about 50 minutes Tuesday afternoon due to a physical altercation inside the school, school officials said. The incident “quickly moved outside because of an additional external threat,” read a statement provided to families.
The lockdown began at 1 p.m. According to school officials, police responded and helped resolve the situation.
“No one was allowed into or out of the building during the lockdown,” read a letter sent by Osseo Middle School Principal Brian Chance.
It’s unclear what exactly the external threat was. The exact number of students involved in the incident could also not be confirmed. CCX News is working to verify further details.
During a lockdown doors remain locked and hallways are cleared of students and staff. Students are kept in their classrooms or other secured areas until the lockdown ends.
School dismissal occurred at the normal 2:40 p.m. time, but parents picking up students noticed an increased police presence.
