Fernbrook Elementary PTO Raises Money for Education
An Osseo Area School principal said the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is one of the schools’ biggest allies.
PTO fundraisers provide schools with educational items, programs and services not supported by the district’s budget. That’s also true with Fernbrook Elementary School.
Some of those achievements include purchasing several flexible seating options, new level reading books and bringing in a motivational speaker on how to “Be the Nice Kid.”
The funds also provided installation of a buddy bench and an inspiring and permanent outdoor art mural.
“One of the reasons our PTO is so successful is because the folks that make up the board all have different gifts. We’ve got folks with tremendous organizational gifts, great with details, some are phenomenal with money and understanding the ins and outs of the PTO rules and regulations,” explained Fernbrook Elementary Principal Jeff Zastrow.
Fernbrook is preparing for another PTO fundraiser event next month. The “Flyer Adults Night Out” (FANO) will be held Saturday, Feb. 29th at Cambria Hotel. The goal is to raise $15,000.
