Fast-food restaurants bounced back quickly from the pandemic because they were already set up to handle drive-through service. With that in mind, CCX News gathered updates on changes coming to the local fast food scene.
Wait and See: Burger King Building in Crystal
Social media was aflutter when signs started coming down at the Burger King on West Broadway Avenue in Crystal this week.
Crystal Development Director John Sutter updated the Crystal EDA in a meeting this week that the building would remain shuttered for now. The owner and the person leasing the property both live out of state and the lease is still active.
Opening Jan. 19: KFC in Brooklyn Park
The KFC off 85th Avenue in Brooklyn Park is currently hiring and plans to open on Jan. 19. You may remember the building was built and operated briefly as a Tim Horton’s, but closed in May 2019.
Still on a Vacant Lot: Raising Cane’s in Brooklyn Park
Construction is expected to begin this year on a Raising Cane’s in Brooklyn Park, near the Panera Bread off 96th Avenue. The permit has not been issued yet, but the opening date that was originally discussed was sometime this fall. This will be the 12th location for a Raising Cane’s in Minnesota.
