Fare for All Offers Groceries at 40 Percent Discount
The rising cost of essentials, from gas to groceries, continues to impact the spending habits of consumers.
New Hope-based hunger relief nonprofit The Food Group helps with costs by operating 30 pop-up grocery sites called Fare for All. The organization purchases fresh produce and frozen meat in bulk and sells items at 40 percent off retail price.
“We’re finding more and more folks are coming and checking out the sales, maybe people who have never used it before because of inflation rates,” said Lindsey Countryman with The Food Group. “Because of that, Fare for All is more important than ever.”
The program is available to everyone, regardless of income.
“This is a good program. We’ve seen it over the years for folks who don’t always qualify for assistance programs but could use the help for food budgets,” said Countryman.
The food is bundled in $10 to $40 packages, which change each month.
