‘Extreme Demand’ Seen for Business & Industrial Park Developments, Plymouth Project Approved
A vacant office building in Plymouth will be demolished later this year to make room for an even larger warehouse that doesn’t have a tenant secured yet.
The Plymouth City Council approved a plan on Tuesday that would allow a developer to build a 90,000-square-foot warehouse near the intersection of Nathan Lane and Schmidt Lake Road on the former site of United Hardware Distributing Company.
The United Hardware building was 40,000 square feet in size.
Endeavor Development says that while the building doesn’t have a tenant, it’s seeing “extreme demand” for newer, larger, taller and more efficient buildings in this market.
The developer expanded on the idea in city documents:
“Given the existing inventory in the Plymouth market, this development gives an option for a growing company within Plymouth who needs more space an opportunity to stay in the city, or a company to relocate to Plymouth, potentially bringing and or creating jobs in the community,” read a narrative on the project by Endeavor Development.
Construction would begin this summer and likely be completed in the spring of 2023.
