Anderson, Lunde Re-elected to Hennepin County Board of Commissioners
Voters in northwest suburbs re-elected their commissioners to serve on the Hennepin County Board.
Jeff Lunde, who represents District 1, received 77 percent of the vote and 47,143 votes total, while opponent Gulled Badel, received 14 percent and 13,893 votes total.
District 1 includes Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, New Hope, Osseo and Robbinsdale.
Lunde, the former mayor of Brooklyn Park, was first elected to the County Board in 2020.
During his time on the board, he has chaired the Public Safety Committee. He also has been active member on the Blue Line Extension Project.
Kevin Anderson Re-elected in District 7
Meanwhile, in District 7, Kevin Anderson was re-elected to serve on the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners.
Anderson received 55 percent of the vote and 44,401 total votes, while challenger Brad Kohler had 44 percent and 35,510 votes.
District 7 includes includes Maple Grove, northwest Plymouth. Others cities in the district are Champlin, Corcoran, Dayton, Greenfield, Hanover, Independence, Loretto, Maple Plain, Medina, Minnetrista, southern Mound, Rogers, St. Bonifacius and Rockford.
Anderson, a Maple Grove resident, was first elected to the County Board in 2020.
During his campaign, Anderson highlighted his work on local infrastructure projects and the county’s push to end veteran homelessness.
