Eastbound 85th Avenue Closed Due to Large Water Main Break
Brooklyn Park city officials say a large water main break has forced the partial closure of a prominent east-west thoroughfare. The city sent out an alert just before 1:30 p.m. that a large water water main ruptured under the road in the 3900 block of 85th Avenue. That’s midway between Noble and Xerxes avenues.
As a result, eastbound traffic on 85th Avenue starting at Noble Avenue is closed. City officials say the closure is expected to last through tonight and into Friday.
All businesses may be accessed by traveling west on 85th Avenue from Xerxes Avenue. Westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane.
“Please use alternative routes,” an alert read.
It’s unclear yet what caused the break.
