Driver Punched in Face, Robbed by Pedestrian
Brooklyn Park police are investigating a brazen robbery in which a driver was punched by someone who was walking alongside the road and entered her vehicle.
Police say it happened Friday night, Nov. 8, in a residential neighborhood at the intersection of Pearson and Sierra parkways.
According to Brooklyn Park police, the driver slowed down as she approached someone walking in the street. That’s when the robber opened the driver’s passenger-side front door, flashed a knife, then punched the driver in the face.
The robber stole the driver’s purse and ran from the scene, police said.
Police responded at 9:23 p.m. Friday and surrounded the area and also deployed a K-9 unit. The attempts to find the robber were unsuccessful.
A description of the robber was not immediately available.
As of Monday, police had not made an arrest. Their investigation continues.
