Driver Arrested in Brooklyn Park with 0.38 BAC, Nearly Five Times Legal Limit
The number of impaired drivers taken off the road during the recent holiday enforcement effort resulted in more than 2,000 arrests.
Minnesota police, deputies and state troopers made a total of 2,079 DWI arrests from Nov. 27 to Dec. 31.
According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), officers in Brooklyn Park arrested one person with a blood-alcohol content of 0.38. That’s nearly five times the legal limit and the highest number reported in the metro area.
The OTS coordinated the campaign with federal funding provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Their simple message: if you’re impaired from drugs or alcohol, plan for a sober ride.
