Dog-Friendly Brewery Pass Raises Money for Animal Humane Society
Not only does a portion of every sale of a dog-friendly brewery pass goes to the Animal Humane Society, but it’s also a really good deal.
“This year’s pass has 33 Twin Cities breweries and another 14 ‘Road Tripping with Rover’ breweries,” explained Ali Jarvis, from Sidewalk Dog Media. “You buy it on the website for $30 and you get a free beer at 47 different breweries and they are all dog friendly.”
This is the sixth year for the dog-friendly brewery pass. Five percent of every sale goes to the Animal Humane Society and people also have a chance to make an additional donation when purchasing the pass.
Jarvis says when deciding whether or not to take your dog to a brewery, there’s a simple rule.
“We always say ‘know thy dog,” said Jarvis. “Make sure you have a dog that would have a good time at a brewery and would behave well enough and be happy there. Exercise your dog before you go. Have a short leash so it’s right close to you and not at another person’s table. We really preach responsibility, so you have to be able to leave if your dog isn’t behaving well.”
One of the participating breweries is Omni Brewing Co. in Maple Grove.
