District 281 Plans a Night of Service
For the first time, District 281 teachers are planning a Night of Service. Teachers are planning the event for students from in the district’s three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. However, the public is invited too.
“Part of being an IB student is taking action and caring for other people,” explains Teri Greenstein, a Lakeview Elementary teacher who serves on the Night of Service team. “We decided to do this night of service, where we are going to bring IB students together and do a variety of service projects.”
The Night of Service will be April 5 at Cooper High School. There will be a variety of projects available for people to lend a hand. Volunteers can make sandwiches that will go to the homeless population, assemble pet bags and much more.
