Diamonds, Michael Jordan Basketball Part of IOCP’s ‘Breakfast with Tiffany’s’ Fundraiser
Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners (IOCP) is raising money to prevent homelessness through its Sleep Out campaign. And there’s two big opportunities where your holiday shopping could also benefit the nonprofit.
More than 27 local businesses are participating in “Shop with a Purpose” on Dec. 16-17.
“Shop with a Purpose actually started 13 years ago with the Foursome and today it has expanded to over 27 local businesses in Hamel, Long Lake, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Wayzata,” said Laurie Walker, Interfaith Outreach’s corporate relations manager. “These businesses generously donate a portion of their proceeds to Interfaith. These dollars go into our annual campaign called the Sleep Out. This year’s goal is $3 million and we are well on our way there.”
Several businesses are donating 10 percent of all sales to Interfaith on those days. Others are giving a certain dollar amount. You can find out who is participating here.
Interfaith Outreach’s Resale Select Store is also hosting a special event on Dec. 17 called “Breakfast with Tiffany’s.”
“We have some great items that are curated and vetted with high-end items that are brought into the store,” said Sonja Carr, Interfaith Outreach’s Resale store manager. “It’s December 17 from 8:30-10 a.m. in the store and then all the items that we do not sell in the store go online.”
There’s a diamond tennis bracelet for sale as well as several Disney prints. The top item is a signed basketball from the 2002 All-Star game that features signatures by NBA legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
