Demolition Begins on Crystal Police Station
Heavy demolition of the city’s police building began this week. The teardown started as construction continues for the new building next to city hall. Police hope to be in the new space by next summer.
The new police station will increase working space and storage as well as provide a garage for police vehicles.
During the construction process, police will be dispersed among other municipal buildings like the Community Center, Public Works and City Hall.
Most of the current building will be demolished, but part of the building will be turned into a community meeting room for city hall.
