Crystal Swears In New Mayor
The city of Crystal started its first council meeting of the new year with the swearing in of a new mayor.
Julie Deshler received the oath of office on Tuesday. Deshler spoke to CCX News following her election last fall.
Deshler previously served 10 years on the Crystal City Council before stepping away at the end of 2020.
Three returning members of the city council were also sworn in.
Taji Onesirosan represents Section 1, which includes the southern half of the city. He was appointed in 2023 before his election last fall.
John Budziszewski, who represents Ward 3, won re-election last fall by a single vote.
David Cummings won re-election in Ward 4 without opposition. He was first elected in 2020.
